California Polytechnic State University’s "Learn By Doing" motto will be put into effect by the San Francisco Orchid Society's first scholarship program. The scholarship program was announced at Preview Night at OrchidFest and a check for $5,000 will be awarded to the selected Cal Poly student at the Pacific Orchid Exposition in February. The San Francisco Orchid Society is very excited about this new opportunity that gives blossoming growers aid in their orchid-filled futures. The lucky student will also help to manage the Orchid Production Greenhouse at the Ornamental Horticulture Unit and establish and maintain an orchid display at the Retail Sales House at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. |
